Workshops & Talks
I speak and teach on a variety of topics, including essay writing, the business of freelancing, the "translation" of science for popular audiences, and communication between scientists and the press. I've presented at UCLA, the University of Wyoming, the University of Montana, the University of Notre Dame, the National Snow and Ice Data Center, and various conferences, and I've served as a writing instructor for the Whitman College Semester in the West. I've also taught at the Santa Fe Science-Writing Workshop and the Telluride Writers' Guild. Please feel free to contact me for more information. March 05, 2010 Environmental Writing in Four Dimensions A one-day conference about environmental writing with historian Nancy Langston, biologist Stephen Palumbi, and novelist Richard Powers. I'll represent the Fourth Estate. See the conference website for more details. |
